Join us for a heartfelt community event marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific (VP) Day – 15 August 1945 – the day World War II came to an end.
National Trust Queensland Redland Community Group shines the light on these reflections.
“Reflections on VP Day” shines a light on powerful local stories from Capalaba, Birkdale, Thorneside, and Wellington Point — stories that reveal the strength, spirit, and resilience of everyday people during one of the most challenging times in global history.
This commemorative gathering will feature music, storytelling, and historic insights, honouring the moments and memories from our region while the Pacific theatre of war unfolded — and celebrating the peace that followed.
